#1: How many songs may I submit?
While there is a maximum of 6 songs allowed to be submitted as an album, there is currently no limit to the number of times you may submit. However, with any submittal after the first, please let me know under what name the previous submittals were made, so all songs may be grouped under the same artist.
#2: Are there any rules concerning song content?
As with many sites which have submittals from the public, there will be common decency requirements which will be applied. I do not condone the suggestion of violence, although satire is allowed. Sometimes satire is the greatest tool a protest may have. Simply showing shells arranged on the beach spelling out words or numbers will not be considered a threat of violence. Everything else will be examined to the extent warranted.
#3: Any other rules concerning song content?
I do not consider myself to be a censoring type of person. However, certain types of prose, lyrics, screams which are not words, and other types of communication (except for my long, drawn-out explanations) serve little purpose. Case in point: I have listened to many genres of music, looking for artists to contact for songs I would like to include on the site. I listened to an anti-Trump song on YouTube, and there was a section in spoken word selection which repeated the words “f**k Tr**p” over 60 times (I lost count). After I stopped laughing, I did not pick it for the site. Also, if the lyrics cannot be understood, then the song has no message.
#4: May items be sold on this site?
Quick answer; NO. However, artists create, and sometimes need to sell art in order to create more art. Because of this process, if an artist has submitted at least 1 anti-Trump song which has been accepted on this site, then I will have a section at the bottom of the HOME page, so that when artists give website information, interested people can go to the artist’s site to possibly buy something. All music uploaded to this site should be music which is to be released for free.
Although this site may show a date of original submittal to us, this site does not verify whether or not the particular song submitted has been previously published or copy-written. All music submitted to this site is to be allowed to be downloaded for free. Should you wish to direct people to your own site for sales of your music, referred web sites or YouTube channels are allowed and will be listed in a searchable form at the bottom of the HOME page.
